How to Protect Your Fingers When Cutting Food
When cutting food at some point you are going to nick a finger or two in the process. There are all types of small gadgets from finger gloves to finger guards that can protect your fingers from nicks and cuts such as the Deglon 59052 2-Inch Finger Guard Digiclass, made by Deglon cutlery in Thiers, france. This one actually works and it costs less than $10.
The Finger Guard Digiclass allows you to rapidly slice and dice like the professionals without having to worry about those painful cuts to the fingers. You simply place your middle finger into the adjustable ring hold and the rest of your fingers remain free to manipulate the food; it even features a curved bottom that serves to hold the food in place while it’s being chopped. The interior of the shield has a welded ring that easily adjusts to fit the middle finger, thus leaving the rest of your fingers to manipulate the food, i.e., the tip of the shield holds the food that has to be sliced.
The Finger Guard Digiclass measures 2″ x 2.3″ inches is made from quality stainless-steel, and it is dishwasher safe, its second best feature.
The hinged plastic finger guard is another version. It has flexible soft-grip loops that will fit most adult finger sizes, for both left and right-handed. It is approx. 1″D x 2.5″ W x 2.6″H.
